 | DBS Heritage Consulting & Communications was established in 1995. A
sole proprietorship registered in the Province of Ontario, DBS specializes
in bringing history to life in both the electronic and print media. The firm
undertakes historical, heritage and media projects, supplying research,
writing, editing, and media relations skills. |
 | DBS maintains on-going computer databases on Canadian, Ontario, and
Simcoe County history. Currently, these databases hold almost 35,000
records. The firm takes full advantage of the application of current trends
in personal computing, including word processing, spreadsheet, graphics,
desktop publishing, communications, and database applications.

 | To date, DBS has published two books: Simcoe
County Book of Days (1998) and Streetwise in Barrie
(2001).

 | Over 150 years in the making, Beautiful
Barrie: The City and Its People – An Illustrated History was launched on Saturday, October
15, 2005 at the Barrie Public Library.

About the Principal
 | The firm's principal, Bradley E.S. Rudachyk, holds a Ph.D. in Canadian
History from Queen's University at Kingston (1992). He
is the author of several academic and popular papers and is widely sought
after as a speaker. |
 | Dr. Rudachyk is deeply involved in the promotion of local heritage
matters in Barrie and Simcoe County. He was a member of Heritage Barrie,
Barrie's Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee (LACAC), from
1993 to November 1997, serving as Chair from 1995. Since 1995, he has served
as Vice-Chair and Director of the Barrie Bell Restoration
Committee, a
not-for-profit registered charitable corporation, dedicated to the authentic
restoration of the only Canadian-built Bell automobile remaining in the
world. Dr. Rudachyk is the committee's historian and media relations
specialist. In May 1999, he was elected First Vice President
of the Simcoe County Historical Association --
a position he held until his
acclamation as President on 21 May 2002.

 | On 5 January 2003, The Hon. James K. Bartleman, Lieutenant Governor
of the Province of Ontario, presented Brad with the Barrie 150
Sesquicentennial Award in recognition of his contribution to the heritage
and history of the City of Barrie. |
 | Elected director of Ontario Historical Society in June 2007. |
